The instructions provided were clear and concise, allowing us to complete the assembly in just over an hour. Putting together the set was very easy and straightforward.

Fortunately, the cushions dried out quickly. We also didn't observe any alterations or discoloration to the set, even after exposure to hot weather. To protect the cushions, we suggest using a water-resistant spray or covering them with a furniture cover when not in use. We promptly removed the drenched cushions and stood them vertically to help with draining water. Although they repelled water well after a light rain (we noticed some visible water beads on the surface), some cushions did not hold up as well during a heavy downpour. The cushions are made with Jacquard woven fabric and filled with Polyurethane and polyester, which is supposed to make them resistant to water, stains, and mildew. The table's weight and mesh design effectively prevented the pieces from being blown around in high winds, as the wind easily passed through them. During testing, the chairs and table were subjected to strong winds and rainfall, however, we didn't observe any change in the quality. This set is constructed entirely with a wrought iron steel frame, making it waterproof and able to endure general wear and tear from outdoor use.

In fact, we received numerous compliments from guests for their level of comfort. Each chair has a weight capacity of 225 pounds and feels very stable when sat upon. This feature added to our comfort and relaxation, improving the quality of our sitting experience overall. However, we quickly discovered that they had coil spring seat mounts that allowed for a smooth and gentle backward rocking motion when seated. At first glance, the chairs seemed like standard steel furnishings. After testing this set for two weeks, we were thoroughly impressed with how sturdy and comfortable the chairs and table were.

The Better Homes and Gardens Clayton Court 5-piece Patio Dining Set earned our Best Overall spot because it's the perfect blend of style, comfort, and durability for creating an al fresco retreat in your backyard (Better Homes & Gardens is owned by The Spruce’s parent company, Dotdash Meredith).
